José David Toro Ruilova (24 June 1898 in Sucre – 25 July 1977 in Santiago de Chile) was a colonel in the Bolivian army and member of the High Command during the Chaco War (1932–35) who served as the de facto 35th President of Bolivia from 1936 to 1937. He was one of the leaders of the coup that deposed President Salamanca in November, 1934 and became President of the Republic in May 1936 as a result of a military uprising headed by his friend and comrade, Major Germán Busch.
