Object description
Tassili n’Ajjer is a vast sandstone plateau in southeastern Algeria and one of the most important prehistoric art sites in the world. The area contains over 15,000 rock paintings and engravings depicting animals, human activities, and climatic changes dating back as far as 12,000 years. The park is also known for its dramatic rock formations and desert landscapes. It was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1982.
