Djémila, formerly known as Cuicul, is one of the best-preserved Roman cities in North Africa. Built in the 1st century CE, the city includes temples, basilicas, baths, triumphal arches, and an impressive Roman forum. The site illustrates how Roman urban planning adapted to mountainous terrain. Djémila is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is considered one of Algeria’s most important archaeological locations.
