Object description
Gortyna /ɡɔːrˈtaɪnə/ , or Gortyn , was a town of ancient Crete which appears in the Homeric poems, under the form of Γορτύν; but afterwards became usually Gortyna . According to Stephanus of Byzantium it was originally called Larissa and Cremnia or Kremnia .
