The anthem was composed by Todor Skalovski, with lyrics written by Vlado Maleski. The lyrics of the anthem celebrate North Macedonia's natural beauty, rich history, and cultural heritage. The chorus of the anthem is as follows:
Translated into English, the chorus means:
"Our mother, Macedonia,
That joins the frame
Above the abysses,
Our song is yours,
That will lead us to victory,
That will lead us to success!"
The anthem is often played at official events and ceremonies, such as national holidays and sporting events.
